Recently, an American man named Daniel Valtier was arrested while standing outside Shakira’s private residence. Prior to this, the man had been stalking her, believing that she was his wife.

Daniel Valtier, aged 56, is facing charges of stalking and harassment. He has been relentlessly trying to contact Shakira ever since she moved from Spain to the United States in the summer of 2023.

Valtier consistently claims that Shakira is his wife. On January 8th, Shakira’s security team discovered him standing outside her mansion in Miami. Prior to this incident, Valtier had been leaving small gifts for Shakira and her two sons in a mailbox placed in front of her residence.

Valtier is currently being held by authorities on charges of stalking. On his personal social media account, he has posted delusional content regarding his relationship with Shakira. This information has been collected by Shakira and submitted to the authorities since January 3rd.

On January 8th, Valtier appeared once again outside Shakira’s private residence. Shakira’s security team detected him and contacted local authorities to detain him temporarily.

During his court appearance on Tuesday, Valtier stated that he couldn’t comply with the restraining order and maintain distance from Shakira. He claimed, “She is my wife. I still frequently communicate with her.”

Prior to this, Shakira had requested that Valtier refrain from sending her any more gifts and cease posting about her on social media. However, Valtier did not comply with these requests. Initially, when the court issued a temporary restraining order, the requirement for Valtier to remain out of custody was to pay a $50,000 bond.

The presiding judge expressed concern about Valtier’s mental health after he adamantly insisted that Shakira is his wife. Therefore, the bond amount was increased to $100,000. A no-contact order has been officially issued by the court, prohibiting Valtier from sending any items or attempting to contact Shakira under any circumstance.
