Taylor Swift tried to keep a low profile during a recent engagement in New York City, but she was delighted to break it when she spotted a little fan hoping for a chance encounter.
One TikToker, known as St. Christopher on the app, posted a video in the early morning hours of December 7 showing their younger sister amid a tiny crowd lining the pavement as the “Never Grow Up” singer drove to her car after the Poor Things film premiere on December 6.
Swift strolled calmly down the sidewalk, dressed in a long black coat with feathery sleeves and a matching black gown. She smiled sweetly, ignoring the cacophony of voices chanting her name—until she turned to enter her vehicle and saw the girl out of the corner of her eye.
“Is that a child?” Her voice could barely be heard above the commotion, and her eyes focused in gentle concern as she quickly whirled on her heel, forcing her security guard out of the way to reach the girl—named Natalie, according to a comment from someone who appears to be friends with her sibling. “It’s very late!”
She approached Natalie, stooping down and pulled her in for a short side hug before smiling for photographs.
A pair of voices—presumably her mother and sibling—thank her for stopping, with mom referring to her as “the best.” For her part, the small Swiftie merely turned to watch the diva return to her car, stunned.
“My baby sister just met Taylor Swift!!! 🥹,” St. Christopher captioned the adorable video. “she’ll remember this forever and ever thank you @Taylor Swift ️.”
Hours later, the TikToker posted that Natalie was “still so starstruck” after meeting TIME’s Person of the Year.
Fans enjoyed seeing the nice interaction, with one commenting, “And this is why she was named Person of the Year. That small girl will not forget this act of generosity, and she will spread it throughout the world.”
“The gentle bumping away of the security guard so she could scurry over and get a pic with the baby is everything,” another person said.
“Okay how do I convince Taylor that I’m also a child and need a photo?” Someone else made a joke, and we have the same question, TBH.
