Taylor Swift performed the ideal song to welcome Travis Kelce to the 2024 Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix on Sunday, May 5.
The singer did not accompany the 34-year-old NFL player, but the BWT Alpine F1 Team tweeted a video announcing Kelce’s arrival. The social media video, which showed the Kansas City Chiefs player showing off his Alpine cap while eating, was paired to Swift’s “Florida!!!” with Florence and the Machine, one of the singles from her most recent album The Tortured Poets Department.
The official F1 Miami Grand Prix X account used the same Swiftie reference: “Travis Kelce in Florida!!!.”
Kelce wore a two-piece emerald green ensemble with shorts and short sleeves, which was ideal for the warm weather at the Miami International Autodrome in Miami Gardens, Florida. It was significantly different from the pinstripe suit and fedora he donned the day before at the Kentucky Derby in Louisville.
Despite Swift’s absence, Kelce was surrounded by friends. Swift’s close friend Ed Sheeran came to witness the race, as did Kelce’s teammate Patrick Mahomes and wife Brittany Mahomes.

Kelce and Patrick, 28, joined the investor group supporting the Alpine Racing Formula 1 team in October 2023, with Kelce stating that he was “thrilled” about the chance.

Though Swift was not present, she recently aroused fan speculation that she made a reference to Formula One in her song “imgonnagetyouback,” which was published as part of her new album, The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology, in April.

Some fans thought Swift was referring to her supposed 2023 relationship with Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso, who has been driving for Team Aston Martin since last year. Alonso, 42, then reacted to the lyrics in a TikTok video, raising a finger to his lips while Swift sang the Aston Martin line. Swifties on social media were eager to point out that Kelce was wearing Aston Martin green on Sunday.

Swift has been spending time with Kelce as the Tortured Poets Department has been receiving attention. She has been on sabbatical from the international part of her Eras Tour since March and will return to the stage in Paris on Thursday, May 9, while Kelce has been in the NFL offseason since the Kansas City Chiefs’ February Super Bowl triumph.
In March, the couple went on a romantic vacation to The Bahamas, and in April, they were sighted at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California. Later that month, Swift and Kelce reconnected with Patrick and Brittany, 28, during a charity auction for the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation in Las Vegas, where Swift contributed Eras Tour tickets, which raised $80,000.
