Sydney Sweeney is the new queen of the small screen, owing to her major roles in HBO megahits “The White Lotus” and “Euphoria,” but Hollywood’s power men didn’t always think she was cut out for television.
In a new interview with British GQ, the 24-year-old discussed her adolescent years of struggle to find work, which left her cash-strapped family living in a budget motel room.
“A casting director once told me that I will never be on a TV show,” the Spokane, Washington native stated. “Now, I’m on some of the biggest shows in the world.”
Sweeney is now in the second season of HBO’s nine-time Emmy-nominated teen drama “Euphoria”.
While D.A.R.E. has criticized the graphic series for “glorifying” substance misuse, it has become one of the most talked-about shows in the world, with its cast featured in a cover story for the Cut.
