Sophie Turner has spoken out about her difficult divorce from Joe Jonas, praising her new gal buddy Taylor Swift.
In a new cover story for British Vogue, the 28-year-old former Game of Thrones star opened up about her friendship with the 34-year-old music megastar, who also happened to have dated the 34-year-old Jonas Brothers member in 2008.
Sophie befriended Taylor during her divorce with Joe, and the two were spotted eating dinner at famed Manhattan restaurant Via Carota in September 2023, the same month the actress and singer announced their divorce.
The actress commended the singer for her support during that difficult time, stating, ‘Taylor was an amazing hero to me this year.’
Sophie revealed that when she needed a place to stay in New York with her two girls, Willa (three) and Delphine (22 months), she asked Taylor if she knew of any places she could rent.

Taylor generously donated her own New York City house for free.
Sophie described the gesture as follows: ‘I’ve never been more grateful to someone than I am to her for taking my children and me in and providing us with a home and a secure space.
‘She truly has a heart of gold.
Taylor dated Sophie’s ex in 2008, after it was reported that Joe had ended their relationship in a 27-second phone call after only three months.
Sophie also revealed her struggle with depression and anxiety in the monthly, as well as the misery she faced throughout her Joe divorce aftermath, confessing there were days when’she didn’t know if she would make it.’
The couple surprised the world when they announced their divorce in September 2023.
The internet was immediately ablaze with conjecture about what had gone wrong, and it only got worse when allegations surfaced that the singer had seen the actress ‘doing something’ suspicious on their Ring security camera.
Sophie has now spoken out about the media frenzy around the breakup, admitting that she suffered greatly from’mom guilt’ and describing that period as the ‘worst few days of her life.’

‘I mean, those were the worst few days of my life,’ she told Vogue recently. ‘There were some days that I didn’t know if I was going to make it.
‘I would call my lawyer saying, “I can’t do this. I just can’t.” I was just never strong enough to stand up for myself.
‘And then, finally, after two weeks of me being in a rut, she reminded me that it was my children I was fighting for.
‘Once anyone says to me, “Do it for your kids,” I’m doing it. I wouldn’t do it for myself, but I’ll find the strength for them.’
At the time, Sophie was in the U.K. filming the TV show Joan, while Joe and their two daughters, Willa, four, and Delphine, one, were in the US.
‘I was contracted to be on set for another two weeks, so I couldn’t leave. My kids were in the States and I couldn’t get to them because I had to finish Joan. And all these articles started coming out…’ the star trailed off.
After the news hit the web, rumors erupted that they had split because Sophie was partying too much – especially after snaps of her enjoying a wild night out with her costars just days before Joe filed began to circulate.
‘It hurt because I really do completely torture myself over every move I make as a mother – mom guilt is so real,’ continued Sophie.
