In what’s thought to be a family vacation before going separate ways, Gerard Pique and Shakira had a heated exchange in front of their two sons.

According to Marca, this yacht trip took place last year. In one photo, Shakira appears visibly upset, pointing her finger at Pique while their two children sit beside their father. In another snapshot, Pique seems to be standing up, seemingly wanting to leave, while Shakira continues to speak. Some newspapers suggest these images were captured during the family’s weekend getaway in the Costa Brava region of Spain, at the end of August or the beginning of September last year.

At the time of the argument, Shakira was facing accusations of tax evasion that could lead to imprisonment. Espectaculos reported rumors of trouble in the relationship related to infidelity. The trip was seen as an opportunity for both to temporarily forget their troubles, both personal and professional. During the trip, Pique and Shakira were reportedly confronted by a paparazzo who took photos of their vacation.

Since this vacation, Pique hasn’t posted any photos of Shakira on Instagram. Meanwhile, the Colombian singer has shared moments of them both dressing up for Halloween in late October 2021, welcoming the new year, and Valentine’s Day 2022. Shakira even posted a photo of Pique celebrating his career successes in March, but the Barca defender didn’t respond.

Pique and Shakira announced their separation in early June. They didn’t specify the reason for the breakup, leading to numerous rumors, with many suggesting Pique had been unfaithful. According to Marca, in the coming weeks, the couple will negotiate custody rights. This is considered a complex issue as Shakira wants to take both children to live in Miami, while Pique wants Milan and Sasha to stay in Barcelona.
