Sydney Sweeney from Euphoria has hinted at a shift in the show’s impending third season.
Sweeney, who plays Cassie Howard in Sam Levinson’s teen drama, has recently stated that filming for the next chapter will begin soon. In an interview with GQ, the Immaculate star seems to confirm that the new batch of episodes will take the series in a different direction, as previously hinted by Levinson.
“People will be really amazed with what season three becomes,” the Madame Web actress stated. “I think that’s good because seasons one and two were so different.”
When Levinson discussed the new format last year, he promised a season constructed like a noir film, depicting the hardships of a principled individual in a corrupt world through the eyes of protagonist Rue (Zendaya).
Season three production was suspended last year due to Hollywood writers and actors strikes, and the cast and crew were also dealing with the deaths of star Angus Cloud, who played Fez, and director Kevin Turen.
As Euphoria production appears to be back on track, viewers should expect new episodes by the end of the year or early 2025, albeit an official release date has yet to be announced.
