Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) has done well in keeping up with Angelina Jolie, who was an influential public figure in 2007. However, the same cannot be said for staying current with Shakira, who had a significant impact on the development of AOC’s persona, likely due to the user’s memorable first trip outside the U.S. to Shakira’s home country of Colombia.

On this July day, the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime show featuring Jennifer Lopez and Shakira has garnered four Emmy nominations. In response, AOC is now making a concerted effort to reconstruct the archives related to Shakira’s influence on AOC.
