Taylor Swift gives her ex Taylor Lautner a hug on stage… as the pop star re-releases a sensitive song about their 14-year-old affair

Taylor Swift gave her ex Taylor Lautner a nice hug onstage at her Kansas City show on Friday.

Swift has just re-recorded her third studio album, Speak Now, which includes some of her most renowned breakup ballads.

This includes the emotional single Back To December, which she wrote about her breakup with Lautner, whom she dated briefly in 2009.

Lautner and his wife Taylor Dome were captured on camera arriving at Swift’s most recent gig on Friday night, according to footage posted on Twitter.

As the show began, Swift brought Lautner to the stage, along with actress Joey King and Presley Cash.

During the performance, Swift released a new music video for her song I Can See You, which stars herself, Lautner, King, and Cash.

Friday night, all three of Swift’s castmates appeared to be overjoyed as they rushed onto the stage to join her.

In a move sure to warm the hearts of the “Swifties,” all four of them joined for an intimate group hug.

When Lautner first took the stage, he astonished the audience by performing a double cartwheel, which was captured on film and shared on Twitter.

He was greeted with an embrace from his ex-girlfriend, eliciting another round of applause from the audience.

During his speech, which has also surfaced on Twitter, Lautner dished that ‘by the way,’ he ‘didn’t plan the flip. It just – it felt right.’

He graciously thanked the audience ‘for the energy,’ adding: ‘We had so much fun making this video. Taylor, thank you for having me and all of us.’

Lautner gushed: ‘I just wanna say one thing quick – I respect you so much, not for the singer you are, the songwriter, the performer, but truly for the human you are.’

He waxed lyrical: ‘You are gracious, humble, and kind, and I’m honoured to know you. So thank you for allowing me to be a part of this and for being in my life.

Lautner recently told the TODAY show that he isn’t concerned about the song’s inevitable revival.

‘I think it’s an excellent album. ‘Yeah, I feel protected,’ he added, adding that his wife, who previously acknowledged to being a Swift fan, was also pleased for the release.

Swift and Lautner met on the set of the star-studded romantic comedy Valentine’s Day in 2009, and they went on to have a whirlwind affair that autumn.

Unlike many of her breakup songs, Back To December finds Swift apologising to Lautner for the way things ended.

Though he is unlikely to face Swift’s wrath, Lautner is concerned that her ex, John Mayer, will not be so fortunate. ‘Praying for John,’ the Michigan native said.

It has long been speculated that the hitmaker’s murky song Dear John, which appears on Speak Now, is about her age-gap romance with the Mayer.

He told Rolling Stone in 2012 that the song ‘humiliated him’ and made him ‘feel bad,’ claiming that ‘I didn’t deserve that. I’m really excellent at taking responsibility now, yet I never done anything to deserve it.

He ended by saying that ‘it was a really lousy thing for her to do’ and that he found it be ‘cheap songwriting’ on Swift’s part. Swift and Mayer dated from December 2009 to to early 2010 when she was just 19 and he was 32.
