Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco have reconnected after being separated by her work.

The 31-year-old singer and actress has been away from the 36-year-old music producer, whom she has been dating since June 2023, as she attended the Cannes Film Festival to promote her new film ‘Emilia Perez’ and recorded the latest season of her hit programme ‘Only Murders in the Building’ in New York.

Benny commemorated their reunion with a photo of Selena closing her eyes and resting on a white pillow, captioned “She’s back.”

Selena said that she had planned to adopt a baby before meeting Benny, prompting their reunion.

She told Time about submitting herself to being a single mother: “I was alone for five years and became accustomed to it. Many people are frightened of being alone, and I probably tortured myself mentally for about two years before accepting it.

Selena went on to say that she “came up with my plan” to adopt at the age of 35 if she “had not met anyone”.

She said about things changing when she met Benny: “It just happens when you least expect it.”

Selena added her new partner has tuned out the “noise” when it comes to “hurtful” things trolls say about her body.

She said: “I know what people can do to people I love. My own fans, who I adore and feel like have shaped who I am, will say the most hurtful things to me about how I live my life.

“But he has the strength in him that none of that noise fazes him.

“It’s really impressive, and I just cherish every moment with him. I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that he’s not going anywhere anytime soon.”

Selena made her relationship with Benny, born Benjamin Levine, public in December, and he said earlier this month that his “next goal” is to have children with the actress.

He stated on ‘The Howard Stern Show’: ‘That’s my next aim, to tick the box (of having a family).’ 

“I have a ton of godkids; I’ve got a ton of nephews. I love being around kids.”

Selena’s close friends and family are said to be convinced she and Benny are in their relationship for the long-term.

One insider told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “She feels very at home and at ease with Benny.

“Their friends, family and loved ones on both sides are all supportive and happy to see what they think could be an amazing and long-lasting relationship between the two of them.”
