Sabrina Carpenter revealed that her recent cooperation with Kim Kardashian had no negative impact on her friendship with Taylor Swift. 

In April, the ‘Espresso’ singer, 25, appeared in an ad for Skims, the mega-popular shapewear line established by Kardashian, 43. Given Carpenter’s closeness with Swift, 34, who has a well-known public rivalry with Kardashian, more than a few eyebrows were raised. 

Carpenter, on the other hand, clarified that just because there is smoke does not necessarily imply that there is fire.

“As much as people want to believe you’re tuned into every little thing, I’m not because I’m constantly working,” Carpenter told Rolling Stone in an article published Monday, June 17. “In that scenario, I’ve been very, very communicative with her about that situation, and I just love her so much and support her till the end.”

Carpenter continued, “It was no weirdness for me, but I know people will just say things because that’s all they have time to do.”

The pop artist, who recently opened for Swift on her Eras Tour, collaborated with Skims on the Stretch Lace and Fits Everybody collections, which were released on April 3. 

Carpenter praised Swift’s talent to Rolling Stone, describing the “Fortnight” singer as “such a different echelon.” She said, “I could never compare my life, my career, my trajectory to anything close to what she’s done.”

Still, Swift has recently involved Carpenter in her creative process, giving her a preview of her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, before it was published on April 19.

“She always puts out music at a time where I didn’t realise I needed those songs,” Carpenter stated. “We openly express our love and admiration for each other…” She showed me ‘But Daddy I Love Him’ before it was out, and it’s also one of my favourites.”

Carpenter was also with Swift in October, when she and her friends, including Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, and Blake Lively, went to MetLife Stadium to watch Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs face the New York Jets. 

Carpenter, on the other hand, joked that she wasn’t paying attention on the pitch. “One vodka cranberry in me and I’m not thinking about football,” she said.

The rivalry between Swift and Kardashian — read a full breakdown here — was exacerbated by the publication of Tortured Poets and the song “thanK you aIMee,” which spelled out Kardashian’s first name in the title and took thinly veiled barbs at their falling out. 

After the song was released, a source exclusively informed Us Weekly that it serves as Swift’s “final word” on the subject. 

The source stated, “Taylor has moved on and is not looking back.”
