Taylor Swift couldn’t hide her enthusiasm at her Dublin concert when Travis Kelce arrived to watch.
Swift glanced out to the audience while performing “August” off her 2020 album Folklore. Swift smiled as she sang the song, leaving fans wondering what prompted her to react in such a way.
It didn’t take long for her fans to figure out why her demeanour had changed so quickly: Travis Kelce. Although Kelce was unable to witness Swift’s show on Friday, the three-time Super Bowl winner did attend one of her shows in Ireland on Sunday, much to Swift’s joy.
Kelce quickly made his way to the VIP tent, where he was seen watching the event with a beer in hand. Although Kelce was unable to attend Swift’s performance on Friday, the 34-year-old pop megastar made an effort to thank the Kansas City Chiefs star.
While playing “Midnight Rain” from her “Midnights” album, Swift made a motion similar to Kelce’s celebration. Swift pulled her tongue out and attempted an archer position while singing the words, “And he never thinks of me, except when I’m on TV,” which elicited shouts from the audience.
Notably, Swift did the motion while performing “So High School,” which many believe was written for Kelce. ESPN personality Pat McAfee discovered that Kelce inspires Swift, and the feeling is mutual.

“I think Taylor motivates him to continue to go,” McAfee said, with regards to Kelce continuing his football career despite being in his mid-30s. βI think he watches her do her thing, she sells out stadiums in every city around the entire world, she continues to make bangers, she’s hands-on in everything.β
“He probably thinks, βYes, this is exactly who I need to be around.β Because, you know they say you are the company you keep, and the company he’s keeping is taking over the world, pretty much, in an industry that I don’t think she was supposed to take over as fast as she certainly did.β
Given that Swift and Kelce are both at the top of their respective careers, it’s understandable that they often don’t have time to spend together. Kelce, on the other hand, has done everything he can to assist Swift on her globe tour.Swift recently invited Kelce to the stage, where the famous tight end performed with her professional dancers. The two even moved close to each other during her song “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” with viewers guessing on what they might have said to each other, which was all part of the production.
Kelce has never joined Swift on stage before, having always watched her performances from the VIP box. So far, Kelce has seen Swift perform in Kansas City, Argentina, Singapore, Australia, France, England, and now Ireland.
With Kelce nearing the end of his NFL career, he appears to be enjoying himself more, especially given how demanding the season is. The Chiefs will kick off the 2024 NFL season against the Baltimore Ravens on September 5.
