Thousands of people who couldn’t get tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour event in Munich watched the show from a nearby hill.
According to the German daily Süddeutsche Zeitung, local police estimated that over 40,000 people congregated on Olympic Hill, which overlooks Munich’s Olympiastadion on Saturday.
Swift entertained 74,000 fans inside the stadium with her performance.

While addressing to the audience at the start of the event, the Grammy-winning performer acknowledged the additional attendees outside the stadium.
“We’ve got people in a park outside the stadium, thousands of people listening from out there,” Swift said, per footage circulating on X.
“I just feel so incredibly welcome,” she added.
The concept of “Taylor-gating,” or gathering outside Swift’s concerts, started shortly after the artist began touring the United States with her smash hit Eras Tour last year.
Fans gather in streets, parks, and parking lots near music sites to sing and dance to their favourite songs playing over stadium speakers.
While some towns have prevented fans from loitering outside venues without tickets, LBC claimed that bathrooms and drink stations had been put up in the park on the hill in preparation for the Munich show.
A video uploaded on social media showed the hills outside the stadium packed with fans before the stadium was full.
According to the Olympiapark website, Olympic Hill provides a “magnificent view of the Olympic Park” and has “been a popular destination for enjoying free open-air concerts” for decades.
It further stated that the hill is open to “all those who want to listen to world stars of rock and pop for free from their picnic blanket.”
A representative from the show’s venue did not respond to Business Insider’s request for comment, which was submitted after business hours.
